Welcome to Intel Mixx Blog ..
Royal Ascot attracts thousands of people every year – it’s one time of the year when ladies (and gentlemen) get dressed up to the nines for six days of horse racing fun and games, it’s a fashion extravaganza that’s second to none. Last year the dress code was tightened up which meant quite a few outfits were outlawed. This includes fascinators, strapless dresses and mini skirts – but hey when it comes to shoes there’s no limit to the choices you have of stylish shoes for ladies to wear at Royal Ascot.
This year ladies had better beware, because looking too sexy might just get them escorted off the track. So before you think about what to wear check out the rules first – a strap might be too thin or a hemline too short to be acceptable attire for Royal Ascot Day and it could get you into trouble. Then of course, you need to think about what hat to wear!
What IS Okay to Wear at Royal Ascot?
Think higher necks – it’s a great way of compensating for the fact shorter hemlines are out of favour. Instead of strapless go for sleeveless or even cap sleeves which can look really hot. When it comes to hats, go for something jaunty but nothing that gets you noticed for all the wrong reasons – think comfy wedge shoes to complete your outfit!
Think Stylish, Subtle & Chic
This is such a traditional event that you need to stay stylish and chic. Creating a subtly sexy look will not be offensive at all. Forget the neons and opt instead for wonderfully subtle colours that just ooze a classic glamour and marry your outfit up to some stylish shoes for ladies that look irresistible.
Think Pretty Details & Floral Prints
If you want to stay summery and look great, then go for floral prints and add some gorgeous details which could include ladylike jewellery and why not think about discreet striped and very hot accessories too – but make sure you they are discreet!
Official Dress Codes
The official dress codes are different for each enclosure and the various rings at Ascot. The Royal Enclosure means very formal day dresses with an obligatory hat. Any off the shoulder or halter necks as well as spaghetti straps are not allowed in the Royal Enclosure and mini skirts are a real no no. A lady showing her midriff is not allowed to enter the enclosure either and if you are planning on wearing a trouser suit, the pants have to be full length and made out of matching materials and colours! However, when it comes to footwear, you get to choose anything from wedge shoes to stylish strappy sandals if you want.
What About the Public Enclosures & Grandstand?
If you are going to Ascot and have tickets for any of the public enclosures or grandstand, you have to dress as if you are attending a really smart event. Hats are not compulsory wear but lots of girls do wear them. If you are thinking about wearing jeans or anything a sporty, forget it because you won’t get in!
What About the Silver Ring?
When it comes to the Silver Ring, there’s no formal dress code – but if you want to look hot and fit in with the crowds, then choose an outfit that suits the occasion – remember you want to look good and feel comfortable so you have a really great day out at the races in style. Make sure whatever you have on your feet is comfortable to wear – luckily there’s a great choice of stylish shoes for ladies around that are perfect for Ascot!
